Hi Everyone

There is a new version of "Darkness into Light" out. The changes are very minor with the story remaining the same.
Best regards always,
Sam
Hi Everyone
It is correct to say that it id a jungle out there. It certainly is! I lost the NEH Grant on what I consider to be a technicality (My series is fiction -- I was told by NEH, after I had turned in my application,  that they require you to have a non-fiction rather than fictional series. But the person who sent me my disqualification notice was the same one who encouraged me to apply in the first place via a phone conversation!. A local producer indicated no surprise, as I hadn't spent much time in the queue!).
Moving onward, I am writing a new WW II novel. It deals with the Warsaw Ghetto and all those poor folks went through. Thus, it won't include any of the characters that are in my series which has previously been self-published. The reason I am writing a new novel is that a friend in Santa Fe, NM has said that they will forward this novel to their agent.
I am also sending a query letter to the high schools throughout the country in an effort to get my series, which is rich in history, used by the schools. I got this idea from the students who were not attending classes due to the requirement to take the national tests. I really think that, if students are allowed to use interesting and exciting books, that the graduation rates could increase significantly.
That is what is happening in my authorship. As always, if you have any ideas on how I should proceed, I can guarantee you that I would essentially be 'all ears.'
My very best to you always,
Sam

Hi Everyone

I'm trying now to get my novels made into either big-screen movies or a TV mini-series. Thus I am sending the following out to various entities:
I am a novelist who is trying very hard to get my novel series made into either big-screen movies or a TV mini-series (please see my website http://www.sambatybooks.com/ for information on my series).  Why? For three reasons: 1. Readers of the series are clamoring for the series to be put on film; 2. It would provide a number of good-paying jobs to fellow Americans; and 3. It could serve as a baseline for future series that starts with a World War II thriller and carries the surviving characters up to senior citizen status.
Things have been happening fast and furiously. Based on a suggestion from Senator Udall, I have sent in an application to the National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) to have a 2-3 minute sizzle reel of the first novel in my series (Footsteps to Forever: A World War II Thriller) made. If I win, I will show the sizzle reel to potential film producers and directors in the hopes that the series will be picked up to be put on film. Regardless, Senator Udall and his staff have been absolutely indispensable!
Needless to say, I would be very happy if you have any suggestions as to how I can increase my odds of getting my series turned into big-screen movies or a TV mini-series.
Many thanks and best regards,

The last line (i.e. "Needless to say, I would be very happy if you have any suggestions as to how I can increase my odds of getting my series turned into big-screen movies or a TV mini-series.") applies equally well to you. I would be thrilled to hear any ideas that you may have!
Best regards always,
Sam

"Footsteps to Forever" Minor Modification

Hi Everyone

There is a new version of "Footsteps to Forever" out. The changes are very minor with the story remaining the same. For example, the "Editor's Choice" is posted on the back cover of the new edition, and Tolstoy is given credit for having written "War and Peace."

Best regards always,

Sam

Hi All
I have great news! The fourth and final novel in my historical thriller series has been published. It takes the major surviving characters to senior citizen status and shows how they wind up. I think those of you who became good friends with Jennifer, Otto, and the others along the way won't want to miss it! These folks go through harrowing times, as we all do. I don't use these words lightly, but I think those of you who consider this fourth novel ("Legends Live On") as a 'must read' won't be disappointed.
My best to you always,
Sam

Hi Everybody
Great news! I put in my fourth and final novel in the series to be published. I am publishing once again through iUniverse, as I can make this fourth novel consistent with the first three. I will let you know as soon as the book becomes available.
There is lots happening with the series!
My very best to you always,

Hi Everyone
I completed a draft of the fourth and final historical thriller in my series ("Legends Live On"). I am hoping to get the series picked up by a traditional publisher. To do this, I am back on the querying trail, as I believe I will need a good literary agent to furnish the entry that I will need. If I don't get one soon, I will self-publish (once again) with iUniverse.
My long-term objective is to get the series made into big-screen movies or a TV mini-series. With the success of the TV series, "Downton Abbey," I think it is just a matter of time until my series takes off. To get the series made into big-screen movies or a TV mini-series, people who are "in the know"
have told me that I must get the novels into screen plays. Thus, this is my next big thrust. Any ideas any of you have on this or any other aspect of publishing would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks and best regards always,
Sam
